IRRIGATION CONDITIONS AND AGRARIAN TECHNOLOGICAL PARTICULARITIES OF CROP CULTIVATION UNDER IRRIGATION

PRumyana Kireva - Institute of meliorationand mechanization, Sofia - Bulgaria

      Main aim:

Acquaintance with possibilities and ways of optimizing the irrigation conditions of crops with a view to the most efficient use of irrigation water.
      Secondary aim:

Acquaintance with the agrarian technology of crop cultivation under irrigation conditions.

      Objectives:

      1. Ways of optimizing the irrigation conditions of crops.
      2. Effect of irrigation and fertilizing on the yield of main irrigated crops in various regions of our country.
      3. Additional yield from irrigation of main crops in various regions of our country.

      - The application of optimum irrigation conditions during the crop vegetation period provides opportunities of realizing their potential productive possibilities if the remaining factors of agrarian technological complex are also optimized. Optimum irrigation conditions can be achieved where sufficient water masses, irrigation facilities and manpower are available.
The notion of “crop irrigation conditions” encloses the aggregate of number, size and distribution of irrigation and water norms, terms of completion, duration of inter irrigation periods in and out of the vegetation period.
